The flowers are starting to bloom and our great state will be covered in color very soon. I love this time of year when the wildflowers cover the land and the birds meet from all over the world as they migrate for summer. It seems only fitting to change with the season and make new Music Together. It's sing with your child month and why not complete the month by registering to our next collection. Maracas are shaking in this spring at A Minor Melody so get ready for the fun!

Making Music Together At Home
The music making is on pause at A Minor Melody until Maracas arrives. With the busy day to day lives we live you cannot forget to make time for the ones you love. A spontaneous dance is always a great idea even if your little one isn't feeling the groove right away his mood will change as he sees you enjoying the musical moment. When you have those days that seem to be off beat just sing your favorite song from Sticks and watch the craziness melt away. Even if all you’re doing is walking to the beat, your child will see that as “dancing” and will want to do what you do. Remember that your child may spend a lot of time watching you dance, at first, until he’s ready to join in either this week, next month, or next year. In the meantime you’re modeling a disposition to be a mover!
Sing your favorite tune or pick one that you have seen your child respond to and press play. Try using contrast in your songs. Singing fast then slow or high and low. Play with sound and encourage your child to be silly as well. You are your child's biggest role model and they need you to be musical. Did you know that your child is pre-wired to attend to your voice over all others—to learn more from your voice than from others? The most important voice is yours. So, sing out, knowing that you are giving the gift of music to your child in a way that no one else can.
