Summer is approaching; it's time for breezes, beaches, and buckets filled with sand! Tambourine has officially come to an end and I miss it already. There were many musical memories made that will last for years to come. I saw new families breaking out of their shell and I saw returning families making new discoveries. Babies sang the ending notes of songs and toddlers taught me new ways to shake an egg.
Things To Do With Us In June
Fortunately, there are many fun activities happening at A Minor Melody all summer long! We'd love to see everyone make it out for a few. Know another family who would love to come along? Everyone is invited! These activities are a great way to beat the heat this summer, and as a bonus, they're entirely FREE! All of our actives for June can be found on our website under the Parties tab: click on "Summer Fun" or just click on one of the specific activities below. We are also offering a Parents Night Out where you can come in to the studio, drink a glass of wine, enjoy some snacks, and learn a song or two on the guitar. Bring your guitar, tuned or not, we will get it ready for you to jam with your loved ones at home.

The upcoming Summer Songs 2 Collection features classic Music Together originals like "Ridin' in the Car," plus more traditional favorites, including a fun rendition of the American bluegrass "Crawdad" and our version of the Spanish folksong "Maria Isabel." We'll make the most of the opportunity for vocal-play as we dramatically howl and bark while dramatizing the story of "The Sad Little Puppy." Children will delight in the crescendo that builds to an exuberant "Wheeee!" in family favorite “Allee Galloo.” In addition to your weekly classes, your tuition includes materials for you to use at home, a family newsletter with more at-home music-making ideas, and online access to the songs through the Hello Everybody app. Join us in July and August for our 6-week summer session and fill your family's summer with music and fun!
Registration is now open for Summer Songs at A Minor Melody. The Collection will begin on July 9th and end on August 17th. If you sign up by June 20th you will receive $20 off of your registration with coupon code #EarlyBirdGetsTheSong. If a new friend signs up with you this semester, you will both receive $25 off of your registration.
Are you trying to get out of the heat this summer? Well, we are now offering the opportunity to come A Minor Melody for an additional music class each week. Making Music Together From Day One
Whether you are expecting, starting, or growing your family, it is important to share the love of music with them. Singing to your baby is a great way to involve the whole family. It's an activity that will help build strong bonds between each family member and baby. Giving an older sibling a musical responsibility is a fun way that he and baby can get to know each other. Here's a list of 10 Ways Babies Learn When We Sing compiled by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Babies love sound! Everything is new to their eyes and ears and they soak up every experience that crosses their path. Start a lullaby routine at your home. Lullabies are a great way to close the night just like a good book, only when you sing to your child a chemical in the brain known as oxytocin (a chemical linked to building trust) is released. Music has been found to stimulate many parts of the brain and can release dopamine (the feel good hormone) and prolactin (a bonding hormone) in some cases. Start singing to your infant before they are even here and watch them grow each day loving music more and more.
We will be offering a babies only class on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. Our babies only classes are for infants ages 0 - 8 months old. If you have an older child and sign them up for a different class you will get your baby in at the crawlers discount. The babies only class is designed to help introduce families to Music Together. Like our other classes this is a time for you and your child to explore, bond, and build musical characte
